We have worked in various areas of high ecological value, including:
Preventive forestry actions, such as clearing invasive brush like blackberry and acacia, along with tree thinning, branch pruning, and debris removal to reduce wildfire risk.
We constructed firebreaks, cleared access roads, and built two helipads to facilitate brigade access during emergencies, ensuring a rapid response to wildfires.
As part of our post-fire restoration plan, we have organized volunteer workdays to perform preventive forestry tasks, clearing debris and waste, and preparing the land for reforestation.
During the 2024 wildfire season in Valparaíso, we supported firefighting crews by donating essential supplies, equipment, and key tools needed to face the crisis.
Every summer season, we prepare our reforestation sites in Bosque Santiago to endure high temperatures by building watering basins to maximize water availability, clearing dry material that could trigger fires, and replacing tree guards.
Thanks to our Reforestemos Nursery—the most technologically advanced in Patagonia—we collect genetic material from species in conservation categories to ensure their future reproduction is not compromised by wildfires.
